Health by Design has awarded Midtown Indy a $5,000 grant to lead a Community Hub and Walkability Champion Team in one of four high-crash areas in the city. Midtown has partnered with the Crown Hill Neighborhood Association to identify pedestrian infrastructure strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities in a geography that includes portions of Maple Crossing and King Commons Great Places. The Team’s recommendations will form the basis of a Health by Design report to the City of Indianapolis in 2021 outlining necessary improvements to enhance walkability and pedestrian safety.
